Wake me up in 30 minutes2/3/2024 There are essentially three ways of using the light option, in the morning it can raise the light up to wake you up, dim the light down to let you know it’s bedtime or you can use the light as a light source. Set up is fairly straight forward and similar to a standard alarm clock but I would recommend reading the instructions, so you are fully clued up with the lighting situation. – LCD display with 3 settings Performance – 10 levels of dimming/brightness (220 lumens) – Sunrise/Sunset light simulation from 10 to 30 minutes It’s lightweight, minimalist, yet functional. The more I look at it, the more I like the look of it. To the rear of the speaker are the power port, the speaker and the hard wired FM antenna. While the other buttons on top of the device are used to control the radio, time and alarm functions. On the front display are four touch buttons, used to control the light. Yes, RGB, meaning this is a colour changing light. Behind that frosted area is the RGB LED’s used as it’s light source. It’s got a white gloss casing, with a large LCD display in the center at the front, surrounded by frosted plastic. It’s quite a large device, much larger than any alarm clock I’ve used to take but it still sat nicely on my bedside table. The Light Curve comes boxed with just the power adapter and some instructions. I’m quite a heavy sleeper, I sleep through a lot so I’m intrigued to see if the light will wake me up. I know, exciting right? I’ve heard about this before, the idea is that waking up to natural sunlight is better for you and the Groov-e Light Curve simulates this with the power of LED. You have earned it.This is not just any old alarm clock, this is a wake-up light alarm clock. Rhianna “Stay” (4:01). Proceed to take a minute to cool down on the machine and then spend the remainder of the song stretching out properly on the floor nearby.Ĭongratulations! You have completed the “Pop Interval” workout - now go grab yourself a healthy smoothie. Selena Gomez “Come and Get It” (3:52). Start to bring your resistance down every 30 seconds through this song and bring your energy down gradually as well until you return to no incline. Turn up the resistance/incline every 30 seconds for this song until you get to the end where you should be working at your hardest. Katy Perry “Dark Horse” (3:36). Now you are ready to climb. Kelly Clarkson “Stronger” (3:42).Now bring the resistance and incline down and go back to sprints - 20 seconds fast and then recover for 20 seconds. Add a little more resistance or incline and work harder for 20 seconds and then take 20 seconds to recover again and again for the whole song. Maroon 5 “Wake Up Call” (3:21). Now you can bring the energy down a bit. OneRepublic “Counting Stars” (4:17). If you are feeling warmed up, then you are ready to pick up the pace and do some sprints - 20 seconds on and 20 seconds off for the whole song. So pick up pace and keep tempo with the fabulous P!nk. P!nk “Get the Party Started” (3:12). So now we need to start working the heart rate a bit and raise the body temperature. This is one of my favorite tunes from my new favorite dreamboat. He also happens to know how to create excellent warm-up music. So let’s get to it!Īvicii “Wake Me Up” (4:10). Avicii is a Swedish DJ with crystal blue eyes and cheek bones so sharp I think you could slice pie with them. I like to call this one my “Pop Interval” workout playlist - which means the intensity level will go up and down while you can groove to some fun tunes. Fit Bottomed Girls asked me to come up with a few new workout playlists (with workouts!) that you can take on your own for the next time you are on the elliptical, treadmill or indoor bike. I see myself as part DJ and part motivational coach with a dash of athleticism thrown in for good measure. One of my favorite parts of my job as a group fitness instructor is creating workout playlists.

Combine vector tile sourcesĬombining sources will reduce the number of sources and, as a result, the render time. You can create vector tilesets using the Mapbox Uploads API or by uploading data on the Mapbox Studio Tilesets page. This strategy works well when working with large datasets that don't need to be updated quickly. Feature geometries are also simplified meaning there are fewer vertices resulting in reduced render, source update, and layer update times. The renderer splits features in vector tilesets into tiles which allows GL JS to load only the features that are visible on the map. Use vector tileset sources over GeoJSON data sources when possible. For more on data-driven styling see the Map design guide and our Graduated circle map tutorial with Mapbox GL JS data-driven styles tutorial. This strategy works well for layers with many features of the same type (fill, line, circle, symbol, or fill-extrusion) that are either styled similarly or whose styles vary by the value of a specific data field. Combine layersĬombining layers that use similar styles or that can be styled using data-driven styling will reduce the number of layers, in turn reducing the render time. When looking for opportunities to improve the performance of your map, look for ways in which you can reduce the number of layers, number of sources, or the complexity of the features in the data that is being rendered. Layer update time = constant time + Strategies for improving performance Layer update time is a function of the number of vertices in the features the layer contains: The layer update time refers to how quickly changes to a layer, using runtime styling, are visible on the map. Pixel 6 geekbench2/3/2024 More details about the Pixel 7 series and the Pixel Watch are expected as the launch comes closer. The Pixel 7 Pro will be available in obsidian (black), snow (white/silver) and hazel (green) colours. Google also confirmed that Pixel 7 will come in obsidian (black), snow (white/silver), and lemongrass (yellow) options. It could also pack a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W wired fast charging. The phone will feature a triple-camera setup on the back. The Google Pixel 7 Pro is expected to feature a QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is anticipated to have a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, powered by Google’s in-house Tensor G2 chipset, along with 8GB of LPDDR5. The smartphone was also spotted running Android 13 out of the box. The Geekbench data revealed a 1068 single-core score and a 3149 multi-core score. It is anticipated to have a 6. The new performance and efficiency cores on the Tensor G2 chip will have slightly higher clock speeds and that combined with the 4nm die size appears to give it a 10 percent boost in multi-core performance. The version of the phone that was listed on Geekbench had 8GB of RAM and included a Mali G78 GPU. xf3Apv4q1TĪccording to Wojciechowski, the Pixel 7 Pro will feature a 2 + 2 + 4 configuration with two Cortex-X1 cores, two Cortex A-76 cores, and four Cortex A-55 cores. A recent Geekbench 5 run for the Google Pixel 6 with a Tensor chip has emerged. It takes a spot between the company's high-end flagship, the Pixel 6 Pro (899), and. The A76 cluster has been bumped by 100 MHz, to 2.35 GHz, and the X1 cluster now runs 50 MHz faster than it did before, at 2.85 GHz. Google's Pixel 6 is a sophisticated midrange phone that replaces the good, but uninspired Pixel 5. One thing that has changed is the frequency. Android developer Kuba Wojciechowski took to Twitter to confirm the scores and configuration of the Pixel 7 Pro’s Tensor G2 chipset. The Google Pixel 7 Pro was recently spotted on Geekbench’s benchmark database. Apart from the new Tensor chip, not much is known about the internals of the two phones, until now. Geekbench results for the Pixel 6 models may not match what you would get from a Snapdragon 888-powered phone, but the results are close enough for most users. The tech giant has already revealed the design of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro at the last I/O event. The Google Pixel 7 series makes its global debut alongside the Pixel Watch on October 6.

While there are details on Eon exactly works, from the data that I have, I suspect Eon differs quite a bit from Wine. This is because in many peoples eyes, Eon does the same thing as Wine. Goes to show that VP do have a nice attention to the small details for us Linux gamers. Funny, because I noticed people whining about that on another website. QuoteThey also removed the "Exit to Windows" text (yeah I know, it’s an old game), so it just says "Quit" in the Linux port. No word on when it will be available on Steam yet. You can grab it now from VP’s official store. Do check it out it’s an easy recommendation. It’s quite hilarious, performs rather well and generally a fun experience. It’s a nice practice mode that sits nicely alongside the campaign to restore your tower to its former glory. What is really cool is that it has a skirmish arena mode where you can pick any minions you have unlocked and battle with them against any enemies you have defeated. I have to admit I let off an audible chuckle when some of them decided pumpkins make good helmets-idiots. One thing I didn’t realize until later on is your minions can actually pick up weapons and items if you direct them to walk over to them, so having minions geared up certainly makes it easier. Sending my minions around destroying everything in their path feels pretty good, watching them smash crates, kill sheep and so on is pretty funny. It’s a little like the game Pikmin if anyone has ever played it, only you’re completely evil. You control your minions with the left and right mouse buttons, while your character uses the keyboard, it feels quite odd but it works. Took me a good few minutes to get it right during the tutorial and I keep messing it up during gameplay so I have a while to go before I properly master it. The minion control is a little wonky though, as it is an older title, but you get the hang of it after a while. It plays a bit like an action RPG, with a sort of strategy element too it with the minion control. So you can send your minions in to fight, while you kick back and let off some spells, or you can join them with your sharpened axe. Not only do you control your movement, but you control the movement of your minions too. The gameplay is actually quite interesting and amusing. They also removed the "Exit to Windows" text (yeah I know, it’s an old game), so it just says "Quit" in the Linux port. YouTube videos require cookies, you must accept their cookies to view. You can see how it performs with this Linux gameplay video I did, I left the GLXOSD overlay on so you can see all the gritty details: It only dipped just below 100FPS while I was recording. Performance wise, with max settings at 1080p it’s constantly staying above 100FPS with not a single dip below it. The speech is always fine, but the background music and other audio seem to vanish at random. The only issue I have encountered is the audio seems to be a little buggy. I haven’t had a single crash in multiple hours of testing, so it seems to be very stable. The amount of games that utterly fall over themselves at trying to accomplish that one task is amazing, but Overlord gets it right first time without any messing about. It also appears on the correct monitor with my dual-monitor setup. So I started off impressed right away, great start. I always like being able to do this before a game ends up giving me some wonky resolution: First of all it has a decent launcher to pick resolution and game options before loading. Somehow being the bad guy in games just seems more exciting. I’m pretty damn happy that Overlord is now on Linux, as I’m pretty sure a good 90% of games see you being some sort of hero and rarely the bad guy. While I do have issues with previous ports from VP, I always take each game with a fresh mind as some are really are fantastic (like Bioshock and DiRT Showdown) and some not so (Saints Row series ports). I was only sent it late yesterday, so you will forgive me if this isn’t as in-depth as I would have hoped it would be. It's using MojoSetup, so you can install it wherever you please. This is a DRM free release from their own store. Note: The Linux release is not yet on Steam. I was able to get advanced access yesterday and here are some thoughts. Overlord and the Overlord: Raising Hell expansion have been ported to Linux thanks to Virtual Programming.

You see a lot of simple bonus effects, like +strength or +defense when fortifying across multiple units, and I would've liked more variety in that regard. The different affinity bonuses do a solid job of complementing their intended path, but some of the military-focused upgrades get a little generic and repetitive. Leveling up your affinities provides special bonuses, often to military, land and sea units once you hit certain milestones. This in turn provides you with new technology, units and buildings to further enhance your cities and sponsor. Each affinity "levels up" as you gain points by completing branches of the Tech Web. You can devote time to all three affinities or focus on just one. You either choose to live in peace with all forms of life on the planet, wipe out alien species or dominate opposing sponsors. Most victory conditions are spread across three different affinities that you can explore: Harmony, Purity and Supremacy. Any game can be won in a number of ways, so you're pretty much free to explore the victory condition that you'd prefer. Every bonus or ability provided by cargo, spacecraft, colonists, etc., helps you mold the game to your play style. The options aren't uncommon for the Civilization series, but I enjoyed the sci-fi spin. Having all of these starting options and choices helps to make each single-player game feel unique, regardless of how many times you play the game. For instance, you can start with Pioneering tech (very useful) or begin with a worker unit or soldier unit. Finally, you can choose what cargo to bring on your journey, essentially providing another bonus. You can also choose your spacecraft, which grants additional bonuses, like the ability to see all coasts or see all alien nests on the map despite the standard "fog" that needs to be lifted via exploring units. Aside from picking the size/type of map and sponsor, you also choose a colonist type. There are even more options at your disposal when beginning a new single-player game. The African Union, however, focuses on food and health, producing more food in healthy cities, and providing a free Earth Relic building with each new outpost founded. For instance, ARC is focused on spying, so it gets a boost to covert ops and the amount of intrigue generated in each city where you have a spy present. Each sponsor also has a distinct attribute. If you're willing to delve into the optional Civilopedia, you get a lot more information on the background of each sponsor and how each relates to real-world cultures. Beyond Earth features a total of eight sponsors, with names like ARC, Franco-Iberia and Slavic Federation. You can also dictate the overall size of the map, allowing for two, four, six, or eight different sponsors on any map.Īs you might suspect, a sponsor is essentially a nation or faction controlled by you, another player, or the AI. There's a decent variety to choose from, along with more advanced types that feature tougher climates and layouts than the standard set. Some feature multiple land masses and smaller bodies of water separating the land, while others may have an extremely large land mass surrounded by ocean. The names of the planets matters little instead, each planet represents different map layouts. On different alien planets, you establish an outpost that becomes a full-fledged city. Thankfully, that's definitely the case.īeyond Earth, as its name implies, is a sci-fi-tinged take on the Civilization formula. When Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth was announced, I figured developer Firaxis would keep the trend going. With the more recent release of Civilization V, my love for the franchise was rekindled the revamped, addictive gameplay model was remarkably difficult to put down. Sid Meier's Civilization has been one of my favorite PC series since I first laid hands on Civilization II.
